TRIBUTE TO DEV ANAND THE LEGEND


This  legend was born Dharam Dev Ananad in Punjab (Pakistan ) in 26 September 1923.

DEV ANANAD IN HUM EK HAIN 

Devanand was a military censor officer in Mumbai Church gate  before his acting debut as an actor in film called Hum Ek Hain.
DEV ANANAD IN ZIDDI

Film Ziddi made him a superstar  after which he launched his own production company Navketan in 1949.
DEV ANAND WITH GEETA BALI IN BAAZI
He developed friendly relations with Ashok Kumar and Guru Dutt.GuruDutt directed the film Baazi under Navketan Productions starring Dev Ananad ,Geeta Bali and Kalpana Kartick with music composed by R D Burman.This crime thriller  was huge success.  
Dev Anand married his co star Kalpana Kartik and had a son Suneil Anand in 1956.

Dev Anand was in relationship with actress singer Suraiya . The relationship was objected for being outer caste.

DEV ANAND WITH WAHEEDA RAHMAN IN GUIDE 1965
His first color film was Guide with Waheeda Rahman .The film was made in Hindi and English simultaneously in 1965. The film was directed by his younger brother Vijay Ananad.Jewel Thief and Johny Mera Naam was also directed by Vijay Ananad.
DEV ANAND WITH ZEENAT AMAN IN HARE RAMA HARE KRISHNA
DevAnanad made directorial debut with Prem Pujari in 1971 .The film flopped  but his next effort as director Hare Rama Hare Krishna was a hit and his find Zeenat Aman became a super hit actress overnight.
DES PARDES
His other discovery was Tina Munim who acted in Des Pardes (1978 ) the film produced , starred and directed by Dev Ananad .The film was block buster and since its success  his later films failed to do well in Box Office.

In September 2007 during his birthday his autobiography ROMANCING WITH LIFE was released with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Honours and awards in his film career.

Star Screen Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996
Mumbai Academy of Moving Images Award for his Outstanding Services to the Indian Film Industry. In 1997
Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ujala Anandlok Film Awards Committee in Calcutta in 1998.
Sansui ifetime Achievement Award for his Immense Contribution to Indian Cinema in New Delhi in 1999.
Film Goers' Mega Movie Maestro of the Millennium Award in Mumbai in 2000.
Padma Bhushan Award (India's third highest civilian award from the Government of India) in 2001.
Special Screen Award for his contribution to Indian cinema in 2001.
Evergreen Star of the Millennium Award at the Zee Gold Bollywood Awards in 2001
 Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest award for cinematic excellence
Lifetime Achievement Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema’ at IIFA Award  in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2003.
Legend of Indian Cinema Award at Atlantic City (United States) in 2004
Living Legend Award by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry  in recognition of his contribution to the Indian entertainment industry in 2004.
Sony Golden Glory Award in 2005
ANR Award by the Akkineni International Foundation in 2006.
 Glory of India Award by IIAF, London in 2006.
 Punjab Ratan (Jewel of Punjab) Award by the World Punjabi Organisation (European Division) for his outstanding contribution in the field of art and entertainment 2007.
Lifetime Achievement Award by Ramya Cultural Academy in association with Vinmusiclub ]in 2008
Lifetime Achievement Award by Rotary Club of Bombay in 2008
Awarded at the IIJS Solitaire Awards  in 2008
Outstanding contribution to Indian cinema at the Max Stardust Awards  in 2009
 Phalke Ratna Award by Dadasaheb Phalke Academy. He is also a recipient of the Rashtriya Gaurav Award in 2010 .
Dev Anand was awarded best actor award by Filmfare 5 times .
